The visit to Cambridge, a city steeped in history, was a transformative experience for our Year 11 students. It provided a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant collegiate system of the University of Cambridge and gain invaluable insights into the world of higher education.

Here are some things that our students had said about the visit:

“We learnt about the application process and that A levels choices effect what university you can go to and what you can study. But there are 156 Universities and 30,000 courses countrywide. We learnt a bit about the finances you need to go to University” - Year 11 student A

"In Homerton College, the college itself and the outdoors was very nice and calm. The food was delicious and the library was very interesting. It was helpful to see the accommodation." - Year 11 student B

"I need to research more about the University of Cambridge and how to make my application look better, maybe by looking at what they mean by supercurricular." - Year 11 student C

" I would also like to look at other Colleges and Universities, found out about the various courses and compare them." - Year 11 student D

" Really enjoyed the taster session and the way it specified that we had a chance to learn there. It was extremely inspiring and gave me ideas for the future. The academic taster sessions showed me about the style of learning at Uni. It was extremely insightful. I could use my knowledge for something I am interested in and we could discuss our views with others and build on them." - Year 11 student E

" I liked looking around the college and city centre, it inspired me to do better at school so I have a better chance of attending a university like Cambridge. Would like to apply!" - Year 11 student F

This trip was a remarkable opportunity for Year 11 students to experience first-hand the prospects and choices awaiting them in the world of higher education. It instilled in them the importance of diligent research, thoughtful planning, and the pursuit of their academic passions. The visit to Homerton College served as an inspirational and informative stepping stone towards their future endeavours.
