WSCD – Model Mosques

In Religious Studies the WSCD activity was finding out about the mosque and its significance for the Islamic faith. Students learned how to recognise the inside and outside features and how each link back to prayer and a Muslim’s devotion to Allah. From this, students divided into groups to make model-mosques and competed to represent their Tutor Groups for entry into the model-mosque competition. 16 model-mosques were entered. Below (and opposite) are the winning three:

  • 3rd place: Emily R, Wiki, Tiya, Deni and Matilda, 7 Opal

  • 2nd place: Ella, Jeffreet, Kiera, Angela and Leila, 7 Sapphire

  • 1st place: Zainab, Karina, Olivia L, Tehreem and Melek, 7 Jade

Congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm, excellent team-work and fabulous creativity on the day. Much fun was had and the activity will serve them well when they begin their studies on Islam in Spring term.
