We are looking for an outstanding practitioner, the ability to teach Maths, Sciences , English or Media would be an advantage.
Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is a thriving community school with a healthy and open attitude to progress and change. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Head of Year to join our Middle Management team. You will be responsible for setting the Vision for the Year group, leading and managing a team of 8 Form tutors and developing and delivering a strategic plan that builds on our schools priorities.
You will be responsible for monitoring the academic progress of our students and ensuring that all students are supported on their academic and pastoral journey. (We have a team of Student support workers who work alongside our Heads of Year in monitoring attendance, behaviour and delivering intervention programmes. We really do value our Academic team)
Our student's behaviour is exemplary and we have high expectations in behaviour, attainment and aspire for excellence in all aspects of our school life. There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities for students to extend their learning. Our staff are dynamic, dedicated and committed to ensuring all of our student's achieve success; we attract and retain well qualified and enthusiastic teachers.
Our academic success speaks for itself; Tolworth students achieve high academic standards and make very good progress with above average results, 74% achieved 5 or more A* - C grades including English and Maths, with 25% gaining 5 or more A* or A grades. Our 3 year average is 75% Grade A-C in English and Maths and 85% gaining 5 A – C grades.
