Parents and Friends of Tolworth Girls’ School

PFA Letter

The PFA are supporting the science department to provide a valuable and enjoyable learning experience about exotic creatures for ultimately year 9 students. For 25 years many students have had the opportunity to interact with various “creepy crawlies” in conjunction with their studies.

The Parent And Friends of Tolworth Girls' School aims to encourage closer links between parents, students and staff at Tolworth Girls’ School. When your daughter starts at Tolworth Girls’ School you automatically become a member of the PFA. There is no subscription fee and it is entirely up to you how much you want to be involved. We are always looking for new, enthusiastic team members for the PFA so why not join us at our next meeting as this will be a great opportunity for you to support both the school and your children, as well as an opportunity to meet other parents and make new friends.

We run a number of events, competitions and activities to raise money for the "extras" that make school life more pleasant. Regular events on the PFA calendar are the year 7 disco, festive extravaganzas in the foyer at Christmas and Easter, family quiz night, mufti days and helping at other school events.

  • This past year we have been able to support the school by providing some new food tech equipment, maths equipment, a visit from urban farm, and supported the Year 11 prom

Our PFA team is only a small group of parents. We are a mixture of Mum’s and Dads who work in different professions. It is only the help of parents and teachers that these events can happen. If you can help at an event, provide a raffle prize, occasional help or have a skill you can offer that will be wonderful.

We meet about 6 times a year to discuss plans. Meetings are either held in school, local pub or a parent’s house. If you are able to come to meeting or two, you will meet other parents. We are not a cliquey group, none of knew each other before.

Our aim is to enjoy helping and supporting the school but not taking things too seriously

Fashion Show

The fashion Show was great fun. Thank you to those willing teachers to model the clothes and be escorts. Thank you to Natalie and her team of parents who organised the event
