How We Offer Support:
At Tolworth, we offer a variety of different interventions to help support student mental health. We recognize that every student is unique, and therefore offer a diverse range of support options:
Support Options include:
1-1 Support | Our Student Support Workers work one-to-one with students who need additional out of classroom support with conditions such as anxiety and low mood. |
Group Work | A range of group work interventions are offered at different times throughout the year on topics such as Exam Anxiety, Social Skills Support, Emotional Resilience, and Behaviour Support. |
Drawing and Talking Therapy | At Tolworth, two Advanced Drawing and Talking practitioners work with students experiencing low mood, trauma, and anxiety. Drawing and Talking Therapy can be a suitable alternative for students who struggle with talking only support. Sand therapy is also available. |
Educational Wellbeing Practitioners | EWP’s work with students suffering with low mood and anxiety, and provide low intensity support for a specified duration of time. |
Art Support | Our SSW’s can support student emotional wellbeing by engaging in specific art practices aimed at encouraging self-expression. |
Health Link Worker | The HLW supports students with varying concerns, including eating disorders, gender dysmorphia, and healthy eating habits. |
Chill Space |
We have a quiet relaxation room, which can be made available to students who need a short break due to emotional reasons. Students require permission to come to this space, and may only use this space when a staff member is available to supervise. |
