Tolworth Girls Sixth Form has a structured assembly timetable, robust tutorial programme and a dedicated in-house Careers Adviser to inform, guide and support students in making decisions and planning for the future.
Our dedicated Careers Adviser offers 121 interviews with students to determine possible future pathways and the school offer Morrisby, a highly sophisticated careers education platform that helps students discover a career path that inspires them https://www.morrisby.com
Students have a number of routes available to them, including: university, gap year, apprenticeship or employment and all routes are supported.
Students are encouraged to prepare for their post 18 options by building their profile. This is achieved through career specific insight days and work experience, attending university subject taster lectures, summer schools and open days and through the completion of ‘super-curricular’ activities that extend what they are learning in the classroom. Additionally, students are enrolled onto programmes that develop their research skills, CV writing, interview technique and performance with Situational Judgement Tests (SJT's) and at assessment centres.
The sixth form also run specific programmes for students that wish to try for:
Oxford or Cambridge or other highly competitive universities
Clinical courses, such as Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy, Nursing etc.
Creative courses, such as Drama, Musical Theatre, Art and Design, Architecture etc
These students are given additional guidance so that they are properly prepared for the rigours of a highly competitive application process.
