Careers Education and Impartial Advice and Guidance
Please see the main school pages for further careers information, including links to the policy and strategy.
Students in year 12 and 13 continue to be supported in making decisions and planning for the future. This can be through meeting with the careers advisor, tutorial programmes, or trips and activities.
During year 12 students will be thinking ahead to post 18 and information regarding universities, apprenticeships and alternative pathways will be provided. There is the UCAS conference and World of Work Roadshow for students to visit as well as a variety of open days and conferences arranged by the 6th form team.
At Tolworth Girls' School and Sixth Form it is important that our students get to try working in the real world and therefore have developed a work experience programme for year 12 students which gives them not only the opportunity to do a week's work placement in July, but also teaches them vital life skills in job searching, CV writing and presenting themselves to employers in a professional manner.
As well as resources in the main school library, careers office and in the 6th form block students may find the following two web links of use when selecting A levels and thinking ahead.
