Student Support Worker

Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is a World Class School with high expectations, encouraging our students to be aspirational with their learning and to enjoy all aspects of school life. We are recruiting a Student Support Worker who will work as part of the specialist Inclusion team, to enable all students to reach their full potential, in particular those with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Our dedicated team, work with students one-to-one and in groups to remove barriers to learning and support other staff in managing social, emotional and behavioural concerns.  Using a range of support methods, our unique Student Support team, work closely with Heads of Year, Form Tutors and our Student Welfare team.

You

Our ideal candidate with have some experience of working with emotional, social and behavioural issues in a school, sixth form or relevant context. You will ideally be educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent with excellent communication and team working skills, candidates with experience of working in social care, are particularly desirable. You will be comfortable using a range of Microsoft products including outlook and word, experience of using SIMS would be advantageous, however training will be provided.

This post is full-time working Monday to Friday, term-time only. The hours for this post are 8am – 3.45pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm on Fridays, inclusive of unpaid rest breaks. The actual salary for this post is £17,633.00pa.

Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is a World Class School with high expectations, encouraging our students to be aspirational with their learning and to enjoy all aspects of school life.  We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to join our highly committed Inclusion team. Our ideal candidates will have some experience of working alongside teenagers who struggle with aspects of their learning.

We are recruiting two posts to join our highly committed and supportive Inclusion team, where you will primarily be based in either the main school or our Specialist Resource Provision. Our provision is specially designed for students with a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition and SEMH needs. All students within the provision will have an Educational Health Care Plan and will complete their learning in both the SRP and the mainstream.

Our ideal candidates will have some experience of working alongside students with ASC and SEMH needs who struggle with aspects of their learning and social communication. Applicants with speech and language, ASC and SEMH experience are particularly desirable to suit our student’s needs at this time.

Our posts would also suit a graduate thinking of pursuing a teaching career or training to become an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant and would include opportunities to run intervention groups and work with small groups of students.

Working hours for a full-time post are 8.20am to 4pm Monday to Friday, which includes unpaid rest breaks and totals 36 working hours per week.

The actual salary for each post working 36 hours term time only, plus 23 days annual leave and 8 days bank holiday (45.2 weeks) is £16,956.88pa.

Posts are initially fixed for 1 year.

Premises Assistant

Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is a World Class School with high expectations for students and staff. We are recruiting an energetic and hardworking Premises Assistant to join us this summer!

Joining the team responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment across the school, you’ll bring your skills, and energy to deliver a safe and secure environment for our Students, Staff, Visitors and Hirers. Working safely to risk assessments, your role will be to action both routine and adhoc jobs, minimising downtime of facilities and equipment whilst keeping the site secure at all times. This is a very active role and will include taking in deliveries, assembling furniture and equipment, setting up and closing down after exams, lettings, functions and meetings. There will be some cleaning tasks, including emptying bins and litter picking.

You

Our ideal candidate will be smartly presented, approachable and able to work flexibly and prioritise accordingly. Some experience of working in a similar role, alternatively in a building trades/services discipline would be advantageous, however not essential, as full training will be provided.

This role is full time 52 weeks, permanent, averaging 36 hours per week and will include weekends, early mornings and late nights on a rota basis, working 5 days out of 7 as part of a small team. Shifts are likely to be 5.30am -1.30pm, 10am - 6pm and 2pm -10pm, inclusive of unpaid rest breaks. Where possible your days off will be together.

This post has 23 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays. All leave must be taken in periods of school closure. The starting salary for this post is £20,286.00pa and will rise in increments to £22,240.63pa.

Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is looking to appoint a hard-working, well-organised and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team.  You will be working as part of a small team of Technicians, under the guidance of the Senior Technician, in a large, well-equipped department of twelve laboratories and two preparation rooms.

This is a varied and interesting post where you will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a friendly team who lend their skills and expertise supporting teaching staff in Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons. In addition, some reprographic work and other general maintenance tasks will be undertaken.

A typical day will see you preparing and setting up equipment and resources for practical teaching lessons. This will involve the use of chemicals, and biological materials for experiments and demonstrations by staff and students. Your organisational skills will then come in handy as you clean down, dispose of waste appropriately and update stock records.

Our ideal candidate is well organised and able to prioritise work, methodical and flexible in your approach to all tasks. You will enjoy working as a team member and are able to work autonomously. We are looking for a candidate with relevant qualifications or experience of working in an education environment, although this is not essential as training is provided.

This post is full-time working 36 hours Monday to Friday. Hours are negotiable and will be divided equally over the 5 days. This post is term-time and 1-week holiday work over the summer.  Actual salary is £17,332.00pa, rising in annual increments to £17,753.00pa.
