Welcome to TGS – Secondary School Transition, September 2026

We are delighted to welcome all new students and their families who will be joining Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form in September 2026.

We recognise that starting secondary school is an exciting and important milestone, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth and positive as possible. As students join us from a wide range of primary schools, we have a carefully planned transition programme in place to ensure everyone feels supported from the very beginning.

At Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form, we offer more than a strong academic education. Our curriculum is designed to develop the skills and qualities students need to succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing world, including leadership, communication, teamwork, creativity and independence.

Our Year 7 students are led by a dedicated Head of Year and supported by a team of experienced tutors who are looking forward to meeting them and guiding them through their first year at TGS.

We hope that both you and your child quickly feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community, and we look forward to seeing them grow and thrive with us.

Timetable for Year 7 Intake September 2026

 National Offer Day: 2nd March 2026

• Online applicants will receive an email from the Local Authority during the evening, informing them of the result of their application.

• If your child did not qualify for a place at one or more of your higher preference schools, your letter will include information about the Waiting List process and what to do next.

Acceptance Deadline: 16th March 2026

• Families must accept or decline their initial offer by this date.

• Second offers are usually sent out a few weeks after this date, to applicants who remain on the Waiting List for one or more higher preference schools.

• Information about your Waiting List position can be requested from the Local Authority's admissions team from 30th March 2026 onwards. We cannot discuss the waiting list until after this date.

• Each wave of offers results in families giving up previously accepted offers, so there is usually continuous Waiting List movement between March and September
