Why is there a house system?

  • To encourage all students to feel part of their community, not only in their own form, year group but also their House.

  • To foster opportunities for students to be leaders

  • To foster opportunities to develop students’ skills and excel

  • To foster healthy competition across the school

Our vision for 2025/2026 is:

  • To increase leadership opportunities through, in part, the House System

  • To consolidate our House Events’ Calendar, giving opportunities consistently across all year groups

  • To continue to enhance ‘Team Spirit’ and a sense of House identity

  • To continue to reward periodically for the winning House’ achievement.

What is the House system like?

The House system has been newly invigorated in 2024, bring team spirit and female empowerment into the fore. Students and Staff are placed into one of our 8 Houses – these are the names of students’ forms also. Students then compete to achieve individual House Points. Students and Staff compete in House competitions, seen on our House Events Calendar, to add an injection of points to the overall total. This culminates in the winning House being awarded the House Cup at the end of year Assembly.
