Ofsted 2023 – Outstanding Once Again
Tolworth Girls’ School and Sixth Form is immensely proud to have been recognised once again as an Outstanding school following its Ofsted inspection in September 2023.
The report celebrates the exceptional quality of education, care and personal development that define life at TGS. Inspectors praised the school’s high ambitions for every student, noting how pupils “aspire to meet these expectations” and how the curriculum enables all, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to thrive.
The inspection also highlighted the school’s commitment to wellbeing, recognising its leading role in supporting mental health and emotional development across the local community. Pupils were described as “exemplary” in their behaviour, learning within “calm and purposeful classrooms” where respect and kindness are at the heart of everything.
The report commended the exceptional personal development programme and rich extra-curricular offer, from drone club and sustainability crafts to cultural trips, theatre productions and Wimbledon ball-girl training. These opportunities reflect the school’s ethos to Aim High, Be Brave and Create Positivity.
Leaders were recognised for building a culture of excellence, collaboration and care, ensuring both staff and students are supported to achieve their best.
