GCSE Results 2025
Huge congratulations to Tolworth Girls’ School students who have maintained the excellent GCSE performance of recent years with another set of outstanding results! We have been celebrating so many success stories this morning as students have opened their results with delight. It has been a pleasure to sit and reflect on the individual journey of each student throughout their time at TGS and hear about the exciting next steps students will be taking with their results. Many of our students went straight into enrolment at TGS Sixth Form choosing from a variety of A Level and Vocational courses.
Results this year maintain our excellent success-rates since the pandemic and the return to national examinations. 96% of students achieved a 4+ in English Literature and 42% of grade 7+ in English Language. These results continue to be amongst the strongest in the country. 77% of students achieved the benchmark 4+ in English and Maths while 69% achieved a 5+ in at least 5 GCSE subjects. We are a non-selective, inclusive school and we are so proud of what our students have achieved. Our students really do live up to our core value of ‘Aim High’ with the vast majority of students making significantly more progress from KS2 than their peers nationally.
Our results across English, Maths and Science reflect our pride in our curriculum which has a strong academic core. In addition to this, we also encourage students to develop their creativity and give them the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge to real-life situations in vocational subjects. Achievement across all areas is very strong, for example: more than 62% of Art students got a grade 7 or above; almost 100% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in French and 90% in Spanish; 63% of students studying Creative iMedia achieved Distinctions; 90% of students in PE and Music at least a grade 4.
Congratulations to the students and staff at our school who have worked tirelessly to attain such impressive results and thank you to the parents and carers who have worked in such close partnership with us throughout the years. We are incredibly proud of our students’ resilience, work ethic and achievements and are looking forward to welcoming the majority of Year 11 into the Sixth Form in September.
