GCSE Results 2026
Tolworth Girls’ School and Sixth Form (TGS) students have once again delivered an excellent set of GCSE results! It has been a pleasure to celebrate their achievements today and reflect on the individual journey of each student throughout their time at TGS. Many of our students have achieved crucial results that will allow them to take exciting pathways in September, including joining TGS Sixth Form.
Results this year continue our excellent record at Key Stage 4. 87% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in English Language and 36% secured a grade 7 or better in English Literature. These results continue to be amongst the strongest in the country. The number of students achieving the benchmark minimum of a grade 4 in English and Maths rose to 79%, while 67% achieved a grade 5 or better in at least 5 GCSE subjects. We are a non-selective, inclusive school and we are so proud of what our students have achieved. They really do live up to our core value of ‘Aim High’ with the vast majority of students making significantly more progress from KS2 than their peers nationally.
Our results across English, Maths and Science reflect our pride in our curriculum which has a strong academic core. In addition to this, we also encourage students to develop their creativity and give them the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge to real-life situations in Vocational subjects. Achievement across all areas is very strong, for example: more than 62% of Art students attained a grade 7 or above; Over 60% of students studying separate Sciences achieved a grade 7 or better; while around 70% of grades in History, Geography, RS, French and Spanish were at 5+; 90% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in Drama, Music, D&T, Creative iMedia and Textiles
Congratulations to the students and staff at our school who have worked tirelessly to attain such impressive results and thank you to the parents and carers who have worked in such close partnership with us throughout the years. We are incredibly proud of our students’ resilience, work ethic and achievements and are looking forward to welcoming the majority of Year 11 into the Sixth Form in September.
